New York Jets TE Kellen Winslow Jr. has been listed doubtful on the team’s official injury report, thus further boosting the fantasy value of fellow Jets TE Jeff Cumberland. ESPN  New York’s Rich Cimini reports that Jets head coach Rex Ryan also stated that Santonio Holmes and Dee Milliner have been ruled out, and that Winslow being listed questionable has nothing to do with his balky knee.

There were no major red flags when Winslow missed the first two practices of this week, because it is customary for the Jets to rest the veteran TE for those sessions in an effort to manage his chronically balky knees. However, the fact that he didn’t practice today pointed to something else, and Cimini tweeted that Winslow’s absence at practice today did not have to do with his knee. That means he most likely missed every practice this week due to some sort of an ailment, so we could very well see Zach Sudfeld in his first game with the New York Jets this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Winslow Jr. has 17 catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns this season, while the 26-year-old Jeff Cumberland has just seven catches for 139 yards and two TDs. However, Cumberland also caught three passes for 79 yards in a huge game over the Atlanta Falcons, so we’ll see if he can use that to permanently usurp Winslow’s spot on the depth chart.
