The New York Giants were in desperate need to add help to their running back depth and signed former Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis for depth to their roster.

David Wilson could be out some time with the injury to his neck and the team has been relying on Brandon Jacobs to carry the load. The team also had recently released Jacobs’ backup Da’rel Scott.

Peyton Hillis could see some action pretty quickly. I doubt we see him against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend, but he could be out there taking some snaps the following week. The Giants have Michael Cox and Andre Brown as the other backs on the roster.

They team decided to add another bruiser onto the roster. Hillis has struggled since his 1000+ yard season with the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He has had 896 total rushing yards since that time.

Why didn’t the Giants just give Michael Turner a call if they were going to go with a back like that?
