Fantasy owners have a difficult decision to make this week, as Cecil Shorts has been listed questionable on the Jacksonville Jaguars official injury report with an SC sprain that is being classified as minor. But as Shorts is learning, even “minor” SC sprains are extremely painful, and he stated yesterday that he has had difficulty sleeping and taking off his jersey due to the pain. This injury makes it hard to raise your arms above your head, and this is definitely troubling for a wide receiver. Shorts continues to be optimistic about his chances of playing, and he made an interesting comment today about playing through the pain.

From the Florida Times-Union’s Ryan O’Halloran, “I’m sure once the adrenaline kicks in, I’ll play ball and deal it. It’s something I have to fight through.”

Cecil Shorts is up in the air for this week’s game against the San Diego Chargers, and he can have some big success against the Chargers defense if a few things go right for him. First of all, he has to be healthy enough to be successful. Secondly, it’s probably best for him not to be matched up against former teammate Derek Cox, who is undoubtedly the Chargers best CB (I bet he lines up against Justin Blackmon). Shorts has 31 receptions for 411 yards already this season, and we can only hope that the Jaguars star receiver is able to play at full strength this week. That’s doubtful, so he’ll most likely be in serious pain if he decides to play.
