According to Denver Broncos reporter Mike Klis, it doesn’t appear that Champ Bailey or Orlando Franklin will be participating this weekend against Washington Redskins. Bailey re-injured his left foot in the game against the Indianapolis Colts after he planted awkwardly. His status is week-to-week and the Broncos have a BYE during week 9. Bailey will look to make his return in week 10 against the San Diego Chargers. Chris Harris, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Tony Carter will fill in while Bailey is out. Bailey was not playing well during his time out there anyway, but this is a setback on his progress.

Broncos RT Orlando Franklin doesn’t look like he will be able to play this weekend either. Franklin suffered knee and ankle sprains in the game against the Colts on Sunday Night Football. With Franklin out of the game, starting guard Louis Vaquez moved over to play tackle and Chris Kuper came in to play the right guard position. The Broncos are getting thin on that offensive line.

The Broncos allowed several of their vets to rest today also. Wes Welker, Shaun Phillips, Eric Decker and Peyton Manning all took the day off.
