Roddy White not practicing today

Atlanta Falcons star WR Roddy White missed the first game of his career last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Falcons were able to win thanks to another monster game from elite QB Matt Ryan and a timely performance from Harry Douglas. White was unable to practice yesterday due to his ankle and hamstring ailments, and ESPN NFL Nation’s Vaughn McClure reports that White doesn’t seem to be practicing today.

McClure tweeted that White was by his locker instead of with the team on the field during the walkthrough, so it would be highly unlikely that White was able to join the team and practice. If he did indeed miss practice again today, then his status will almost certainly be up to a game-time decision. With the way Douglas played last week, the Falcons could actually afford to allow White to rest another week before bringing him back in Week 9 against a rising division foe in the Carolina Panthers.

Hopefully Roddy White ends up being healthy enough to play this week, but he could very well end up being ruled out or on the wrong side of the game-time decision coin. Keep a close eye on his practice status tomorrow, because I think that will decide whether or not we see the 31-year-old out there on Sunday.
