The Green Bay Packers selected Alabama RB Eddie Lacy to help bring a ground game to their already potent passing game. With Aaron Rodgers throwing the passes out to his receivers, the team needed to add another dimension and they have found their guy.

Over the last 5 weeks, Eddie Lacy has been leading the league in rushing yards with 545 yards on the ground. He has scored a touchdown in the last 3 games and has a season average of 4.45 yards per carry. With Rodgers going down with a shoulder injury, the Packers are likely going to ride out Lacy even more. He has the ability to carry the offense on his back and the quarterback will be able to work the play action pass with him.

Lacy came into camp and many people thought he looked overweight. He has been a stud over the last 5 weeks and he will be relied upon more and more. At the end of the season, look for Lacy to be in the running for offensive rookie of the year.

Who says that teams shouldn’t select running backs in the first round?
