Sunday morning are usually filled with a bevy of news regarding potential inactives, but there isn’t much news out there this morning. That’s definitely a good thing, but there are still a few noteworthy items regarding potential inactives. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, and Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard will all play today. All three were expected to play today, and I’ll take a look at White’s and Richardson’s situations after writing about Bernard earlier.
Richardson did not practice for the Colts on Wednesday or Thursday, but he did return to practice on Friday. It’s good to hear that he won’t be a game-time decision or anything, but he was never seriously expected to miss today’s game against the St. Louis Rams. Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is trying to get the most out of Richardson, but it definitely hasn’t been smooth sailing. Both he and Donald Brown are splitting carries in a committee, because Richardson hasn’t averaged over four yards per carry in a single game this season; he’s certainly been a disappointment.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman really hates Roddy White, because only hatred can explain the things Sherman has said about White. Unprovoked, Sherman stated earlier this year that White isn’t a top 100 player. Then there’s this.
Both White and Sherman will go face-to-face this afternoon, but Sherman certainly has the health advantage. Even though White is clearly doing better and was able to practice all week, hamstring and ankle injuries have severely hampered White this season. In fact, he hasn’t played since Week 5. It’s great to hear that White is finally healthy, and hopefully he is pretty close to full health; the Falcons will need him to have a good one against the Seahawks defense.
