Former San Francisco 49ers WR Kyle Williams will be joining the Kansas City Chiefs and their group of receivers. He will be reunited with Alex Smith and will get to help the undefeated Chiefs in their run to the playoffs.
Williams was just released yesterday and all the teams passed on him in waivers and it allowed the Chiefs to pick him up. He is a solid returner, even though everyone remembers him for his fumbles in the playoff game. Those will always haunt him, but he still has the skills to be a good return specialist for the Chiefs.
He also could be a nice option for the Chiefs in the passing game. He could be a good slot receiver for the team. He should get plenty of opportunities for playing time also. The Chiefs do not have a deep group of receivers and Dwayne Bowe could be facing a suspension soon.
It will take some time for Williams to dig into the playbook, but he should be ready to use in the return game if they want to. The Chiefs already have some good return specialists though.
