Just like every other team that faced off against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning, the game plan is to hit Peyton Manning and to hit him often. Every team tries to do it and the Chiefs are going to continue that trend against him. Here is Chiefs LB Tamba Hali’s thoughts on how to beat the Broncos offense:

“Hitting Peyton, being able to put pressure on Peyton is all we look for,” outside linebacker Tamba Hali said, via Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star. “He’s a great quarterback, so we want to impact him when we hit him, . . . get him off-rhythm.”

Every team plans on hitting him, but Peyton is still on pace to put up 3 billion points this season. The Chiefs do have the players on their defense that can disrupt the Broncos offense though. Tamba Hali is just one of the guys that can get into the backfield and blow things up. Justin Houston has 11 sacks this season and will be back there putting pressure on Peyton. He is going to take his hits.

Peyton also has a bad ankle that he is dealing with, so his mobility will be limited. He never was going to run around in the pocket like Russell Wilson, but it will limit his ability to shuffle around back there and get the footwork to make some of his throws. The Chiefs are going to pound him. Will he still be able to put up the points though?

We will find out on Sunday.
