Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush has had a couple of fumbles in the last 3 games. He has 3 total for the season, but there is concern that he will put that ball on the ground again the next time he carries it. He was asked about it and here was his response:

“Just not thinking enough. Not protecting the ball. Not being aware enough of my surroundings, protecting the ball,” Bush said. “Actually, the last game, when I fumbled, I was protecting it as I was going down, I just didn’t squeeze it tight enough.

“That just comes with me mentally, constantly reminding myself, all week throughout practice, of making sure I’m high and tight — whether I’m going through the hole or whether it’s after practice [and] I’m doing a couple extra drills. Just little things like that. Those are the things that will help me to make sure that doesn’t happen again. And it won’t happen again.”

He guaranteed that he won’t fumble the football again this season. We all should just believe him right? NOPE. We will all just hold our breath and hope that he is right until he proves that he can handle it without putting it on the ground.
