LaVon Brazill in walking boot

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver LaVon Brazill is an intriguing young receiver to watch, and he and UDFA wideout Da’Rick Rogers had two receiving touchdowns apiece on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Brazill also suffered a foot injury, but it didn’t seem severe at the time. Colts head coach Chuck Pagano recently stated the obvious, that both Brazill and Rogers had earned more playing time (I mean, it’s not like they wanted to play Darrius Heyward-Bey more), but it doesn’t sound like Brazill will be getting much playing time this week.

Brazill missed yesterday’s practice with the foot injury he suffered on Sunday, and now the Terre Haute Tribune-Star’s Tom James is reporting that Brazill is not practicing today either and actually has a walking boot on his right foot. That puts his status for this week’s game squarely in doubt, and I would consider him doubtful to play this week against the Houston Texans.

That’s great news for Da’Rick Rogers and fantasy owners of Rogers’s, since it means that he’s going to get the full workload as the No. 2 receiver behind the speedy T.Y. Hilton. Rogers has always had plenty of talent, and the Colts will be hoping that he can keep his head on straight. Fantasy owners of Rogers’s will be hoping that Brazill is indeed out, and that Rogers can have a productive game against the Texans. He’s a great fantasy option this week, whereas Brazill is clearly best off being left on your bench.
