Reggie Bush will practice tomorrow

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush did not practice today due to a calf injury, and this led to significant worries that Bush will be unable to play in this week’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Bush missed last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after he was initially expected to be a “full go”, as Bush suffered a potentially significant aggravation of his calf injury in pre-game warm-ups and simply wasn’t healthy enough to play due to this re-injury. It was tough luck for the Lions, and the fact that Bush was unable to practice yesterday or today didn’t seem to bode well for his Week 15 status despite his optimism.

But it now sounds like Bush will be able to play indeed this week, as the Detroit Free Press’s excellent Dave Birkett reports that Bush only missed today’s practice as a precaution and will practice tomorrow. That’s a relief for Lions fans and great news for fantasy owners, because it means that Bush is fully expected to play. If he’s only missing today’s practice as a day of rest and is set to return to the practice field tomorrow, then that means both Bush and the Lions are planning on him being out there.

If that’s the case, then fantasy owners should feel pretty safe starting Bush, though it always pays to be diligent (as we learned last week when Bush was named a surprise inactive).
