The Houston Texans have all kinds of quarterback problems right now. Matt Schaub throws that pick 6 better than anybody else on the planet and Case Keenum can’t win a game. They are staring at the top overall pick in the draft and the possibility of taking QB Teddy Bridgewater with that selection.

What could have been a couple of offseasons ago though. Peyton Manning was released by the Indianapolis Colts and every team in the league had a shot at picking him up. Veteran newsman Bob Allen shared that one of Peyton’s first choices at the time was with Houston:

“Spencer Tillman works with Archie (Manning) in New York on CBS on the weekends,” Allen said on SportsRadio 610. “When Peyton became free and clear Archie told Spencer that Houston was his first choice.”

Peyton told Archie, then Archie tole Spencer, then Spencer told Bob…. but it sounds like it could be right.

Imagine if Peyton signed on with the Houston Texans though. Why would the Texans pass on that opportunity of Peyton Manning? Even if Matt Schaub was playing well, Manning is a once in a lifetime quarterback.
