New England Patriots Have Granted Cleveland Browns Permission to Interview Josh McDaniels
By Ernie Padaon
The Cleveland Browns are in search of their new head coach and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is high on their list of coaches, per Albert Breer. The team has been granted permission to interview with McDaniels for the head coaching vacancy.
McDaniels will likely interview for the Browns position this week. He is only allowed to interview for position from now until Sunday, since the Patriots have a BYE in the first round of the playoffs. After Sunday, McDaniels will be off-limits until the Patriots are eliminated from the playoffs.
McDaniels looks to be the favorite for the vacancy. Rob Chudzinski was fired on Monday and was only given one season to turn things around in Cleveland. Someone else will get to put their stamp on the club,
If McDaniels were to get the job in Cleveland, I wonder how long till someone brings up Tim Tebow? Those two will always be connected and I am sure that his name will surface wherever McDaniels lands a job, especially in a spot where the quarterback spot looks shady. I am sure McDaniels would love a chance at working with quarterback like Johnny Manziel though.
