Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Kahn and GM Dave Caldwell have both confirmed that RB Maurice Jones-Drew will be allowed to test free agency. The team will allow him to find the market for his skills and allow him the opportunity to sign with another team.

Jones-Drew is coming off of a down season after returning from a Lisfranc foot injury. He finished the season with 803 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns after playing in 15 games.

The Jaguars will not be in a hurry to re-sign Jones-Drew:

“It takes two to tango,” Khan said of Jones-Drew, a career Jaguar. “Personally, I would love to see him back but it has to make sense for him. Dave has been on the record with what we want to do and that’s absolutely true.” – Florida Times Union

Teams will be weary in signing the 28 year old running back. They will question if he still has the ability to carry a large load. Some team will give him a chance and he will have to prove that he can still get the job done. What team will give Jones-Drew that chance?
