It seems that the Houston Texans are leaning toward taking Soutch Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney with the top selection in the draft. They are going to pass on the quarterbacks and hope to get one in the later rounds. By selecting Clowney, the Texans could be forcing the Cleveland Browns to choose a quarterback with the 4th overall selection in the draft.
The Browns hold the 4th overall selection and the 26th overall selection in the first round. If the Browns don’t take a quarterback with the 4th selection, then they would be risking having teams jump in front of them for that 26th spot to take quarterbacks. There are a lot of teams that wouldn’t mind trading back to gather a few extra picks in this deep draft.
The Houston Texans would be one of the teams that would consider jumping back up in the first round to take a quarterback in front of the Browns. The Texans will hold the first pick in each round and have 11 draft picks overall. They will have the ability to make a move up in the draft.
