Peyton Manning was speaking to Oklahoma State University students yesterday on things like, “This is your world. Own it” and “Enjoy the journey, not the destination.”, per Tulsa World. He spoke to the students for an hour and was paid $105k for that speaking engagement, per Yahoo Sports. He spoke in front of a crowd for 30 minutes and then held a Q&A for another 30 minutes.

$105k?!?!? I am not hating on Peyton Manning for making that dough at all, but who would want to pay Manning that much money to talk to OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY students? He is a Tennessee guy. He has no attachment to the university. His football team is in Denver, Colorado! Or even Indianapolis.

Why did they decide to pay that money to Peyton? That seems to be a wasted investment by that university.

Peyton can make his dough for his speaking. That might be something he gets into after his football career is done. If someone is going to pay him that money, then nobody should be mad that he is making it. I just don’t understand why.
