Former Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley will have an x-ray on his neck this week, per Mark Sessler. He is hoping to get back on the football field this season and the results of this x-ray will go a long way in his progress to getting back to playing some football.

He is training in Arizona for the season, but remains a free agent and teams are hesitant to sign him until they get results of his health. If he were to receive positive results from the x-ray, then it would be followed by an MRI and CAT testing.

Finley is still a few months away from being cleared for football activities and needs a clean bill of health. The process might take some time for him to get back to football and teams are going to wait on him. The injury was scary and he needs to make sure that he is healthy before he gets back on the field. There still are plenty of obstacles for him to go through until he is ready to go.

Once he gets that clean bill of health, there will be some teams interested in putting him in their uniform. He is a productive tight end and can make some plays for someone.
