Ron Rivera: More Important to get Cam Newton Protection Over Weapons

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera believes that the team should look at protecting Cam Newton more than getting him weapons on offense (David Newton). With all the movement at the wide receiver position for the team, you can tell that getting him weapons hasn’t been high on the priority list yet. We will see which direction the team goes in the draft though.

They have to get him some help at wide receiver somewhere… right?

After losing all their receivers in the offseason, the team has re-stocked the shelves with a new group.

Hooking up the offensive line is never a bad idea for a team. Building up a group that can give Cam some time to throw the rock and create holes for the running game will be huge for an offense.

Come draft day though, the Panthers will grab one of those receivers to help out the offense. There are a lot to choose from in this draft. At some point, you need to find that quarterback some weapons for him to throw the ball to.
