    Here is the analysis on the selection:

    Many people believe Greg Robinson is the more talented offensive tackle in this draft, and there is merit to that.

    However, Jake Matthews is not only talented, he’s also polished. The Atlanta Falcons are a throwing team with Matt Ryan and need somebody to stand on his blind side and handle top pass rushers with consistency every game.

    Matthews has excellent technique, power and anchor that will allow him to do just that. Also, in the midst of that reasoning, it overshadows how good of a run blocker he is too. This pick is exactly what the Falcons need for their quarterback.
