Michael Sam 2nd to Johnny Manziel among top-selling rookie jerseys

Johnny Manziel is the top selling rookie jersey right now and that should have been expected. Manziel has a big following and he has his name in the lights for a reason. He brings attention to himself and some people are drawn to that. He will be running the show for the Clelveand Browns and people want to get behind him. Manzile having the top-selling jersey is something that should be expected.

The number 2 selling jersey is going to St. Louis Rams DE Michael Sam. Sam has gotten all the attention for being the first openly gay player to be drafted into the league and fans are getting behind him by buying his jerseys. That is a lot of jersey sales for someone who will be battling for a roster spot. It will be tough for the Rams to make a decision on Sam in the end with all that following. Hopefully Sam makes it easy for the Rams to make a decision and kills it on the field.

Following Sam in the jersey sales is Jadeveon Clowney with the Houston Texans. He was the first selection in the draft, but he is number 3 in the hearts of the NFL fans. People love their quarterbacks and people are going to get behind Sam. Clowney will likely be the best player of the bunch, but he doesn’t have the popularity of the other 3.

Everyone is making such a big deal about this. It doesn’t bother me, at all that a gay man Is playing football. If he’s good enough, he should play. Period.
What is it though, that made me queazy when I have to watch this big muscle bound brute hugging and kissing a much smaller man on national TV, over & over & over for days on end, and I suppose every Sunday all next year. I don’t think of myself as a biggot, or prejudice person, and I know quite a few gay/lesbian folks, but, I have to admit, I was somewhat taken a back when I saw that on the TV.
What do you think that is??
