Jairus Byrd was brought over to the New Orleans Saints in order to help the secondary and to team up with Kenny Vaccaro to make a dynamic duo back there swatting down passes. They are going to be a great tandem in the secondary, but the duo will have to get healthy first. Byrd will be missing some time from OTAs because of a back surgery that he had. He won’t be available to the team for the next several weeks.
Byrd missed some time with the Buffalo Bills with a foot issue. Now he is missing some time because of a back issue. There has to be some concern about his health going into the season and into the future. He just signed a big time 6-year deal in order to play with the Saints and the team will be looking for him to be making plays on the field.
Byrd said that he would not have done the procedure if it were the regular season, but during this time of the year, he wanted to get it all cleaned up so that he could be ready to start the year.
