Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was upset about his team’s actions off of the field and he decided to prove a little point to his running back during OTAs. He had Ray Rice work with the second team and take less reps while journeyman running back Justin Forsett took the majority of the snaps. I am not sure hoe much longer Harbaugh will ride that out, but the point is being made.

Forsett is a talented running back, but he is not starting quarterback material. He shouldn’t even be mentioned in the conversation with the team, yet he was taking the first team snaps and taking the majority of the work.

Rice will have to earn his way back into the lineup and will have to earn his way back into the good graces of his head coach. His actions off of the field represented the team poorly and Harbaugh wanted to make sure that his running back knows that. He has shared his displeasure about the situation and is continuing to prove his point in OTAs.

When it is all said and done though, the team is going to put the best players on the field. Rice will beat out Forsett for playing time and will see action. If Rice does more stupid things, then the conversation will come up again. For now, Rice is in the doghouse.
