Jordan Matthews was taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2nd round of the NFL draft out of Vanderbilt. He was brought in to help fill the void that was left by DeSean Jackson. During OTAs. Matthews has looked like the best receiver on the team according to Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jimmy Kempski.

Jeremy Maclin is still working his way back into shape after missing time with the ACL tear, so it may take some time to get back into the full swing of things.  Riley Cooper is expected to be the top receiver on the roster, but Matthews could be looking to be the main man on the offense once he gets into the mix. He will be pushing for playing time right out of the gates.

It has always been tough for rookie receivers to make a big impact in their first year in the league, but Matthews has the potential to be one of those guys that performs. He has a solid offense surrounding him and a good quarterback to get him the football. Look for Matthews to stand out and make some big time plays this year.
