The Chicago Bears drafted LB Jon Bostic last season to fill the spot that qas left by Brian Urlacher. He was given some time to develop in his first year in the league, backing up D.J. Williams during the year. Williams was brought in right after the team released Urlacher and took the responsibility in the middle of the defense.

This offseason, Bostic is looking to take the starting job away from Williams. He has worked all around the defense at each of the linebacker positions and has impressed the coaching staff with his play. It still is only OTAs, but the staff likes what they are seeing from their young linebacker. He could be pushing to take that starting job by the start of the season.

In week 1, the Bears could have both Shea McClellan and Jon Bostic starting at linebacker spots. It would give the team some youth and energy on the defensive side of the ball.

Bostic will be making that push in training camp and preseason to be the linebacker roaming around in the middle.
