LeGarrette Blount, Le’Veon Bell officially charged
Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount should form one of the league’s most formidable tandems, but both were arrested for possession of marijuana yesterday along with another passenger. Bell was also hit with a DUI, but he did travel on his own to meet with the team ahead of their preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Still Curtain
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the Ross PA police have officially charged Blount and Bell with possession of marijuana, and Bell is indeed also getting that DUI charge. They probably won’t be disciplined until the following season, but we’ll have to wait and see how the legal process plays out. Everything is cloudy at this point, but what’s clear is that Mike Tomlin wants them to play in today’s crucial third preseason game, which is a dress rehearsal for them.
Bell and Blount are two workhorse backs capable of succeed in between the tackles or on the outside, with Bell looking like a nice second-year breakout candidate with improved blocking in front of him. He can also make a nice impact as a pass-catcher, so the Steelers will hope that neither will be out too long. Blount improved greatly in his lone season for the New England Patriots, and he’s played himself into a key role as the Steelers No. 2 RB.
