The Philadelphia Eagles head into 2014, looking to improve under the Chip Kelly regime. Last season, Philly shocked a lot of people by winning the NFC East. They look to be clear favorites again this year. This a team that boasts one of the best offenses in the NFL, led by third year quarterback Nick Foles.

It seems unlikely that Foles will be able to put up his astounding statistics of a year ago, but he’s going to be very good. With weapons like LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles coming out of the back field, and wide receivers Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin, the Eagles are poised to put up points against every team they face.

Some experts have raised concerns over the Philly defense, but I expect them to be fiery in 2014. Last season, they were clearly holding this team back, especially come playoff time. The addition of safety Malcolm Jenkins to this secondary is a big addition, and went somewhat unnoticed this offseason, with the likes of Darrelle Revis and Eric Decker landing in new locations.

Prediction:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again now. The Jacksonville Jaguars and coach Gus Bradley will be relevant in this league, just not this season. Chad Henne isn’t going to win your team 10 games. Of all the rookie quarterbacks, Blake Bortles looks like the best based on preseason work, but the team has said time and time again that he won’t start until the pieces around him are ready. Even if he were good to go this week, Philadelphia are too much for most teams in this league. The Eagles roll over the Jaguars at home.
