Jordan Cameron, Ben Tate currently uncertain
Cleveland Browns star tight end Jordan Cameron caught two passes for 47 yards on five targets in yesterday’s overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers before exiting the game with a shoulder injury in the third quarter, and he was initially listed as “probable” to return but did not actually get back into the game. Cameron stated after the loss that he aggravated the AC sprain he suffered at the beginning of training camp, and the WR-needy Browns can ill-afford to lose their most talented and dynamic pass-catcher.

Running back Ben Tate didn’t put up a 100-yard rushing day against the Steelers like Towson rookie Terrance West, but the former Houston Texans No. 2 back did impress before bowing out with a knee injury in the second quarter on a 25-yard run. Tate was ruled out after being doubtful to return, so his injury could be even more serious than Cameron aggravation of a previous shoulder injury.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich, Browns head coach Mike Pettine was unwilling (or unable) to give any injury updates on either Tate or Cameron, so they are complete toss-ups this week until we are given more information. It looks like both players could end up being out, but we’ll likely get some form of an update from Pettine when practice opens up. Losing Cameron would be a massive blow, but at least Andrew Hawkins continues to show up well. Tate has injury issues and is talented, so his injury is concerning but softened by the big play of West.
