Frank Gore has handled the San Francisco 49ers running game for years and year. With his career starting to wind down, the team made the move at the top of the draft to bring in RB Carlos Hyde onto the roster.

In the first action in the NFL, Hyde took the ball on 7 carries and ran for 50 yards, He should see plenty of action this year, mixing the carries between him and Gore. I know that Hyde made his impressive runs against a poor Dallas Cowboys defense, but he showed plenty of potential in his time on the field.
For a big man, he was light on his feet and found the holes well. He looks like he would be ready to take on a lead role any time that the team wanted to hand it over. With Gore still on the roster, the team will slowly phase Hyde into the mix. They both are capable backs and will be part of the monster running game that the 49ers will bring to the field.
The future is looking bright for the 49ers running game though.
