Cecil Shorts, Marqise Lee Injury Updates

facebooktwitterreddit

Jacksonville Jaguars veteran wide receiver Cecil Shorts has plenty of competition at wide receiver, but he’s still the top dog in the Jaguars passing attack with a much better quarterback throwing him the football in Blake Bortles. Unfortunately, Shorts’s injuries continue to be his worst enemy, as he has already missed two games this year after missing six games with nagging injuries in the past two seasons. It’s always nagging issues for Shorts, who is dealing with yet another easily-aggravated hamstring issue.

  • The Florida Times Union’s Ryan O’Halloran reports that Shorts stated he is “week to week” with an aggravated hamstring injury that he suffered this past week against the San Diego Chargers. He’s expected to miss this week’s game against the easy Pittsburgh Steelers secondary, and this hamstring issue is starting to become a major issue for Shorts, and you really have to feel bad for the guy. Shorts laments playing hurt, because he realizes that it actually ended up hurting the team in Week 4.

Cecil Shorts hasn’t been the only source of bad injury news at the wide receiver position for the Jaguars, because O’Halloran also reports that the Jags have already ruled talented rookie Marqise Lee, who slipped out of the first round due to injury concerns, for Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury after also missing Week 3 and Week 4.
