Trindon Holliday released from IR by New York Giants

The New York Giants signed ace return specialist Trindon Holliday to a one-year contract back in March, but he was unable to do anything with the team after being placed on the injured reserve. Holliday has been dealing with injuries ever since he was signed by the Giants, but it looks like those injuries are past him and he’s ready to contribute…somewhere else.

  • Per a league source close to Pro Football Talk, the Giants have released Holliday from the injured reserve, meaning that the former Denver Broncos and Houston Texans wide receiver and return specialist can sign with any team. It will be interesting to see if someone decides to take the plunge and sign the explosive returner to their roster, but Holliday does carry fumbling issues and lacks ability as a wide receiver.

Last season for the Broncos, Holliday lost two fumbles, but he had a kick-off return TD, a punt return TD, and 775 kick-off returns. He has four career return touchdowns in two seasons as a primary returner (both with the Broncos), so, again, there’s plenty of talent available for teams that are willing to take the good with the bad when it comes to Holliday, who is 28 and would command a minimum, one-year deal if signed.
