The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants will battle it out in a highly-anticipated rivalry matchup this week, as the NFC East is incredibly competitive to this point of the season. There have been some surprise performances and some disappointments for both sides, as the Eagles have yet to find their grove thanks to a multitude of serious offensive line injuries. That’s contributed to what has been a down year so far for LeSean McCoy, who has struggled to find sufficient running lanes behind an OL that is no longer the best in the league (solely due to injuries, of course).

Meanwhile, the New York Giants offense is finally starting to hit its stride after a pathetic 2013 season and a worrisome start to the 2014 season. Eli Manning has a new toy in Odell Beckham Jr., who showed off his star talent last week against the Atlanta Falcons. Manning is back on track with a better supporting cast and more familiarity with the new offense, and McCoy decided to heap some lavish praise onto Manning.
According to the New York Daily News’s Ralph Vacchiano, McCoy stated that he thinks Eli is one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks right now, and that’s high praise indeed. It’s also not typical in rivalry banter between these two teams, especially from the outspoken McCoy. Manning wasn’t the main culprit for the team’s struggles last season, and he looks much more comfortable this year with a crisp, career-high 66.3% completion percentage.
