The Cleveland Browns created a buzz around their team with the selection of Johnny Manziel onto the roster from the NFL Draft, but was that a wasted draft selection? With Brian Hoyer playing a high level, should the team have gone in that direction with their quarterback?

Manziel was the buzz of the town and will likely continue to be a buzz for the team until he eventually gets traded off of the roster. This team should move forward with Hoyer as their starter for the future. THey need to get him a new contract and figure out how to get some value for Manziel.

Hoyer has proven to be solid at the position. He showed his potential last season before getting hurt and has continued with his production into this season.

The draft pick can’t be considered a waste yet, but the team will need to find some value in it. I don’t know how they will be able to keep Manziel on the roster for much longer. If he is hiding on the bench this year, teams will still think of the potential that he has and someone may want to give the Browns a draft pick.

Right now, Hoyer has a tight grip on that starter job and is making the Browns relevant.
