How flawed is this Pro Bowl voting system? We are all aware by now that the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. Calvin Johnson makes it every year and unheralded, “under-the-radar” players who quietly have great seasons never make it because fans vote for “star” players rather than players who deserve to make the all-star game. This is why voting should be put in the hands of the players and executives themselves and taken out of the hands of the fans. Obviously, there are too many fans who vote for the Pro Bowl that don’t watch the game closely enough. The game itself shouldn’t be taken seriously, as the voting process is asinine.

The NFL did make some changes that corrected the way the game is played, and it definitely was a fun game to watch last year. The conference-less, fantasy-like drafting process makes the game exciting, with teammates going against teammates. But again, the voting process needs to change, as several players who should have made it did not, and vice versa.

Anyway, I’m not here to complain about how the system could be changed, but rather, to point out everyone who deserved to be playing in the game in late January. So without further ado, here are my top 15 Pro Bowl snubs.
