Super Bowl 2015 features two great teams who also have a lot of great players. I am going to rank those players, based on skill. I will attempt to ignore position bias as much as I can, so while I believe that Quarterback is the most important position in football, that does not mean that they will be ranked highest. Here are the 10 best players in this years Super Bowl:

10. Russell Wilson: 2014 Season: 3,475 yds, 20 TD’s, 7 Int, RAT: 95.7, 118 Rush Att: 849 yds

I know many people won’t agree with this position of Russell Wilson, but compared to the other players on this list, Wilson simply does not excel at his position like other players do. I don’t think anyone can put Wilson into the discussion of top 5, let alone top 3 QB’s in the NFL. He could become one of those, but currently he is not at that level. Wilson benefits greatly from a fantastic running game and from a tremendous defense.

Wilson does have a lot of great qualities as well. He is extremely poised throughout the entire game, as he truly does play the game like a veteran quarterback. He rarely makes poor decision, and no matter how poorly he is playing or how much pressure is on him, he seems to always be cool and trust in his teammates and himself. His poise against the Packers was tremendous. After throwing a career high four interceptions, he threw two deep bombs to win the game, as if it was nothing. Many quarterbacks would have lost confidence in themselves, and wouldn’t trust themselves enough to throw those deep balls.
