The Philadelphia Eagles are at risk of turning in an 0-3 record when they take on the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon, as the Jets defense has been even better than expected through two games. After unsurprisingly rendering Isaiah Crowell, Johnny Manziel, and the Cleveland Browns offense ineffective in Week 1, the Jets made Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts look Brownsian in a 20-7, prime-time beat-down.

Coming off of a ten-point game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles offense is clearly reeling, and nobody’s struggles have been more well-documented than DeMarco Murray‘s. The Eagles big-ticket offseason signing and putative centerpiece on offense has 0.5 yards per carry (and no, that’s not a typo) with a hamstring injury adding injury to insult and putting his status for this game in question.

Jeremy Maclin, Nick Foles, Evan Mathis, Todd Herremans, and LeSean McCoy were all key members of the Eagles offense last year, but Chip Kelly blew up the league’s third-best scoring offense and brought in his own guys. The offense Kelly has supposedly created in his image has been a two-game embarrassment, so let’s take a look at exactly what’s behind the Eagles shocking lack of success when they have the ball.
