Denver Broncos GM John Elway is really starting to sound like a bitter ex-girlfriend after losing quarterback Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans

John Elway has done some wonderful things since taking over as the general manager of the Denver Broncos. For that, he deserves a lot of praise. However, he just can’t get past the one who got away. Elway refuses to stay completely focused on his undefeated team and instead is poking fun at the team that stole his potential starting quarterback, the Houston Texans.

By now, most of you know Brock Osweiler was the backup quarterback for four years in Denver. After Peyton Manning retired, Denver wanted him to step in. The Texans had other plans, though, and stole the young quarterback on a deal that paid him roughly $18 million per year.

Since heading to Houston, the attack on Osweiler has been relentless. The same pundits who claimed Elway could be hoisting another Super Bowl with The Brock Lobster at the helm are now saying Houston overpaid. Funny, because they paid only a little more than what Denver was offering (which is what you have to do in free agency).

On Friday, Elway was at it again. This time he poked fun at Osweiler’s tough game on Thursday night while appearing on KOA Radio:

"“A lot of times, those deals you don’t make are the best ones”"

Really, it’s sad. Elway and his Broncos do have a great team that can win even with Trevor Siemian at quarterback. The same Trevor Siemian who was called out by his head coach Gary Kubiak per Jeff Legwold of ESPN.

"“He’s made some poor decisions,” Kubiak said, via ESPN. “I know that sounds kind of crazy, but it’s just learning that, ‘Trevor, That guy can make that play. You’re not in college anymore. You’re not going to throw that ball through that guy.’ I think some of the speed of the game factors that he’s beginning to understand a little bit is going to make him better each week.”"

As you can see, Denver has their own issues at quarterback. They are winning despite bad quarterback play thanks to their stellar defense. Just one week ago, the same thing was being said about Houston. May not want to keep throwing stones, John.

For anyone who is interested, the Texans travel to Denver to play on Monday Night Football on October 24th. If Elway keeps sounding like a scorned lover, this game will be a lot of fun.
