Thursday Night Football saw a victory for the Cincinnati Bengals over the Miami Dolphins. What are the big fantasy football takeaways from the Week 4 game?

As per usual with the Thursday Night Football matchup, this game between the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals was not exactly filled with offensive fireworks. The Bengals did more than enough to come away with a dominant 22-7 victory, but the fantasy football numbers left plenty to be desired.

That being said, smart fantasy football players were rewarded by making strong decisions for this game. With both massive and poor performances, there was plenty of fantasy intrigue in this game.

Here’s a look at the good, the bad, and the in-between for fantasy football from Thursday Night Football:

The Good

Bengals WR A.J. Green (10 receptions for 173 yards and 1 touchdown) – A.J. Green is not only one of the best wide receivers in fantasy football, he is arguably the best at his position in the NFL. Green exploited a sub-par Dolphins’ secondary early in this game and he never let up.

An obvious WR1, Green continues to be an absolute fantasy football star. He gave is owners a huge edge going into the weekend.

Bengals QB Andy Dalton (22/31 for 296 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT) – Dalton did not put up huge numbers in this one, but he did end up being a solid quarterback streaming option this week. Against an awful Dolphins’ secondary, Dalton had a ton of upside in this one.

He was good, but left many touchdown opportunities on the field. The Bengals’ lack of success in the red zone hurt Dalton’s fantasy football performance, but he was still a solid start.

Bengals K Mike Nugent (5/5 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points) – The Bengals struggled in the red zone on Thursday Night Football. They scored more than enough for the win, and kicker Mike Nugent is a major reason for that.

Kickers are impossible to predict, but if you were lucky enough to get Nugent in your lineup, congratulations. He was a big-time fantasy football performer in this one.

Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (1 reception for 74 yards and 1 touchdown) – It all came on one play, but it still counts. Kenny Stills was able to beat the Bengals’ defense deep for a 74-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

After that, Stills and the entire Dolphins’ offense was shut out, but if you started Stills, that one play was enough to make you happy.

Bengals Team Defense – The Bengals kept the Dolphins’ offense off-balance all night. Allowing only three points, while creating two turnovers and five sacks, the Bengals’ defense ended up bein a strong start this week.

The Ehhh….

Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (7 receptions for 61 yards) – Arguably the best slot receiver in all of football, Jarvis Landry was never really able to get going for the Dolphins. He is a weapon for the team in the middle of the field, but the Dolphins’ offense was awful on Thursday night.

They were eventually able to get Landry going a bit in the second half. He ended up putting up solid production in a PPR league, but not exactly what you were looking for in this one. Landry was okay, but he is capable of better. Tough night all around for Miami.

Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (21 carries for 71 yards) – The Bengals’ timeshare in the backfield is making life difficult on fantasy football owners. Hill was coming off of a massive performance from Week 3, but his production was pedestrian in this one. He didn’t kill you, but he certainly did not help much.

The Bad

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (15/25 for 189 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT and 1 fumble lost) – Tannehill has some upside as a fantasy football quarterback, but he put up another clunker this week. Aside from the long touchdown pass to Stills (which was a complete coverage breakdown), Tannehill did nothing worth noting in this game.

Tannehill could not move the ball all night and even turned it over twice. No doubt about it, he was bad.

Dolphins Running Back Situation (Combined 13 carries for 62 yards between four players) – With Arian Foster out, there is no reason to have interest in any Dolphins’ running backs. Damien Williams started this game, but he finished with nine yards on two carries.

Jay Ajayi got the bulk of the work, but his 33 yards on six carries leaves plenty to be desired. Kenyan Drake and Isaiah Pead also got into the mix and did very little. This backfield situation is an absolute mess and continues to be a clear stay away each week.

Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (10 carries for 18 yards and three receptions for 24 yards) – Not much production coming out of the Bengals’ backfield in this one either. Giovani Bernard is the speed back for the Bengals, but he was never really able to get anything going.

His three receptions salved him from being awful in a PPR league, but his overall production was ugly. It will continue to be tough to determine when to get Bernard in your lineup.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (2 receptions for 20 yards) – Coming off of strong fantasy football showing the last two weeks, there was certainly some appeal to DeVante Parker this week. That being said, he was not heavily involved in the Dolphins’ offensive gameplan.

Parker was never able to get anything going in this one. However, he is a talented player who has some serious upside going forward. Tannehill and this offense will limit him a bit, but better days are ahead for Parker.
