Josh Norman earned his first interception with the Washington Redskins before being flagged with the most ridiculous penalty call you’ll ever hear

If you ask Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman, Josh Norman is the best defensive back in the NFL. However, the prized signing in the nation’s capital had yet to notch an interception with his new team heading into Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns. Midway through the fourth quarter as they tried to hold onto a lead, though, Norman finally came up big.

Rookie Cody Kessler had been playing solidly for the Browns up to that point, doing just enough to keep them in the game. However, he made a big mistake by testing Norman when he had solid coverage down the field. The former Carolina Panthers star then made him pay by jumping in front of the receiver and making the pick in the middle of the field.

Ever one to be heard, the Washington cornerback then made sure to celebrate after the big defensive play to force the turnover. He mimed shooting a bow and arrow before heading to the sideline:

What resulted was the funniest penalty call by the official that you’ve ever heard or will ever hear in an NFL game.

I’ll have to check the record books, but Josh Norman probably just became the first NFL player to ever be penalized for “shooting a bow and arrow.” Not excessive celebration. Shooting. A. Bow. And. Arrow. We’re not worthy of a penalty call that great.
