To celebrate a big special teams play, the Seattle Seahawks all mugged their mascot, Blitz

The Seattle Seahawks had quite the task at hand at CenturyLink Field in Week 6, welcoming the surging Atlanta Falcons to town. However, the Seahawks looked well equipped for the challenge in the first half. Their defense, even without Kam Chancellor, looked as dominant as ever. Meanwhile, their offense was finding the end zone. Hell, they were even making special teams plays and celebrating them. The Seahawks mascot, Blitz, is probably not in favor of the latter part of that, though.

After coming up with a big special teams play in the first half, the group was quite hyped up about it. To celebrate, they decided to get Blitz involved, but not in the way that the mascot would surely hope.

Seattle’s special teams unit ran out of the back of the end zone and proceeded to “mug” the mascot. Blitz couldn’t handle it in the slightest after the group ran back to the sideline. The mascot then collapsed, for added effect:

I’m not sure that mascots would be in favor of this becoming a regular thing. However, it’s undeniably hilarious. And hats off to Blitz for being a good sport about the celebration and playing along.

If the Seahawks continue to play like they did in the first half in every phase of the game, they’re hard to beat. They look like the Seattle Seahawks teams of old (meaning recent years)—which is bad news for the rest of the league.
