There will be six teams on a bye entering NFL Week 8. Which teams have the week off and how have they looked to this point?

After several weeks of two and a maximum of four teams being on bye, NFL Week 8 is where things pick up. For the first time in the 2016 season, a total of six teams will have their bye.

Teams on bye in NFL Week 8 are the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers.

Those six teams have a combined record of 18-24 with just the Steelers and the Giants holding a winning record at 4-3 each after the first seven games. The Steelers, though, could be in some trouble with starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger out for at least a month (maybe longer) with a leg injury.

The Dolphins, Ravens and Rams all enter their Week 8 bye at 3-4 overall and the 49ers have the next-to-worst record in the NFL at 1-6. Only the Cleveland Browns have a worse record than San Francisco.

As for this past weekend, the Giants and Dolphins are coming off wins going into their midseason break. The Giants defeated the Rams, 17-10 in Week 7 for their second straight win. The Dolphins gained a win over the Buffalo Bills, 28-25 with Jay Ajayi rushing for over 200-plus yards for a second consecutive week, two games the Dolphins won.

Now the question is will the break hurt both the Giants and Dolphins, especially Ajayi, who has been hot as of late? Also, with those two teams, will the bye week stop the momentum they seem to be gaining as of late?

Time will tell for the Dolphins and Giants. But for the Rams, Ravens, Steelers and the 49ers, this bye week comes at an excellent time, especially with the Steelers. The bye week right now means it is one less game Roethlisberger will miss and it gives them extra time to prepare Landry Jones for their NFC North game against the Ravens in Week 9.

It should be another exciting NFL week, but for the aforementioned six teams on their bye, it will be a nice change of pace for them. Next week for Week 9, the NFL will also have six teams on bye.
