The Cleveland Browns are reportedly shopping Pro-Bowl cornerback Joe Haden ahead of the 2016 NFL Trade Deadline.

From how they approached the offseason to their winless start to 2016, it’s clear that the Cleveland Browns are blowing things up within their organization. Even still, it’s seemed that there still are a few pieces that will be staying. Terrelle Pryor for one has been reported to be “untouchable” while the Browns have also shot down rumors about left tackle Joe Thomas. However, cornerback Joe Haden is not among those players.

According to reports from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Browns are shopping the Pro Bowl cornerback ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s NFL Trade Deadline. The former top-10 pick has been dealing with injuries this season, but the reports say that him proving he’s good to go could ultimately make getting a deal done more likely.

Prior to his recent streak of injuries between last year and this season, the 27-year-old Haden was lauded for his coverage abilities and as one of the best players at his position. There’s still a hope that he can return to that level, but there would be an inherent risk in trading for him.

Regardless, this clearly fits into the plans for the Browns as they build towards their future. They could theoretically be able to accrue more draft assets in exchange for the cornerback, which would allow them to continue adding young players to build around.

As always, there is a ton of fodder leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline that rarely results in anything major happening. Given the situation that the Browns are in, though, there has to be some validity to this. Subsequently, prepare yourself to see Joe Haden on the move.
