Seven lead changes and a wild final two minutes of play left the Pittsburgh Steelers fans at Heinz Field stunned at the Dallas Cowboys victory.

The 35-30 win by the Dallas Cowboys over the Pittsburgh Steelers saw both teams combine for not just seven lead changes, but six missed two-point conversion chances. The loss is the Steelers’ fourth straight. Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ win is their eighth consecutive, a feat not achieved by the franchise since 1977. For reference, that team that had rookie running back Tony Dorsett carrying the football.

In Week 10, the Cowboys (8-1) and Steelers (4-5) exchanged blows like a heavyweight title fight. Following the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys took the lead on a 14-yard rush by Elliott. The rookie running back totaled 21 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He also had two receptions for 95 yards, including one catch going for a 83-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

At the time, the touchdown by Elliott seemed to have done more harm than good for the Cowboys, as it left plenty of time on the clock for the Steelers to have a chance to regain the lead instead of the Cowboys running more time off the clock.

That’s exactly what happened with the Steelers driving down the field, then tricking the Cowboys defense by fake spiking the ball, only to see Ben Roethlisberger throw a perfect pass to Antonio Brown for the touchdown with 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

One good part of that sequence was the Cowboys still had three timeouts in their back pocket. The Cowboys used those timeouts, drove down the field with short passes, and the Steelers gave them 15 extra yards with a face mask penalty. The Cowboys took full advantage of all that with Elliott rushing for a 32-yard score behind the blocking of Tyron Smith which broke open the final touchdown run.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys — Elliott is proving to many experts and writers that he was the right choice as the fourth-overall pick for the Cowboys. He’s already surpassed over 1,000 yards rushing for the season and what can’t go unnoticed this game was his pass blocking against the Steelers.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys — The rookie is showing there is no quarterback controversy in Big D with Prescott finishing 22-of-32 for 319 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He showed poise once again when the Cowboys needed it the most and continued to lead the Cowboys to victories.

Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers — Roethlisberger finished 37-of-46 for 408 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. This was in just his second game back following knee surgery he had less than a month ago. Roethlisberger keeps proving why he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game today. And this game, though a loss, continues to add to his Hall of Fame resumé.

After two weeks on the road, the Cowboys return home next Sunday to host the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium for a 1 p.m. ET game on CBS. The Steelers travel to FirstEnergy Stadium for a Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns.
