The New York Jets will host the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium in NFL Week 12 action. Here’s how to watch this AFC East battle online.

Just a couple of short weeks ago, the New England Patriots appeared to clearly be the best team in the NFL. While they still sit at 8-2 on the season, there is reason to believe that this team is not as good as we thought. The Patriots look to take care of business in Week 12, as they take on the 3-7 New York Jets.

On paper, this is a complete mismatch. The Jets have been awful this season. Their secondary is a mess and their offense is completely unreliable. Ryan Fitzpatrick figures to be back under center for the Jets this week, but it is not like he inspired much confidence. Simply put, this Jets team is not good.

While they are not perfect, the Patriots are still one of the best teams in the NFL. Tom Brady is playing at an extremely high level. The Patriots offensive attack is as good as any in the NFL, and Brady and company will keep them in any ball game.

That being said, their defensive unit is showing some extreme weaknesses. They lack a strong pass rush, can be exploited in the run game and struggle with depth at the cornerback position. While the Patriots defense leaves plenty to be desired, I do not think the Jets are going to be able to take advantage of them.

Cornerback Malcolm Butler figured to shadow Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall on Sunday. If Butler can take away Marshall, the Jets offense will not be able to move the ball with regularity. Add in Fitzpatrick’s tendency to turn over the football and the Patriots defense may be able to get right this weekend.

The strongest part of this Jets’ roster is their front seven. Led by Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson, the Jets are loaded up front. They are an extremely difficult team to run the ball against. However, their secondary is a mess.

The best way for the Patriots to attack the Jets defense is through the air. LeGarrette Blount may not have much of a game, but expect Brady and the passing game to put up impressive numbers whether they have star tight end Rob Gronkowski or not.
