When does New England Patriots 2017 training camp start?

The New England Patriots are coming off of their Super Bowl victory looking to defend, but when does 2017 training camp start for the champs?

As we all know by now, it certainly didn’t look as if the New England Patriots were going to win Super Bowl LI late in the third quarter. The Atlanta Falcons held a 25-point lead and, frankly, looked dominant. Tom Brady and company never say die, however, and they stormed back for the first-ever overtime win in Super Bowl history. Now they’re ready to head into 2017 training camp and begin their title defense.

Most of the time, you worry about a Super Bowl hangover, especially after a dramatic victory. However, that’s not the case with these Patriots. Not only do they return many key figures — Brady, Julian Edelman, Dont’a Hightower, etc. — but they’ve added even more weapons.

Through trades, the Patriots were able to beef up their offense. Former Colt Dwayne Allen should serve as a replacement for Martellus Bennett as the TE2 behind Rob Gronkowski. Meanwhile, wide receiver Branding Cooks should be the most viable No. 1 guy they’ve had at the position in some time.

Free agency was just as fruitful for the Patriots. They re-signed Hightower and were able to lure cornerback Stephon Gilmore away from the Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, they beefed up their running backs with Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead, who should help to replace LeGarrette Blount.

Needless to say, the Patriots are primed for another run at a Super Bowl. However, that all begins with training camp, which means eyes will be on them this time around. So when does New England Patriots 2017 training camp begin?

The Patriots will begin training camp will start in Foxborough on July 27. That’s where the title defense begins, coinciding with a pursuit of yet another Lombardi Trophy to add to their dynastic run.
