The Green Bay Packers held voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp over the past few months. Here are five players who impressed in offseason workouts.

The Green Bay Packers wrapped up their organized team activities (also known as OTAs) this past week by engaging in a friendly paintball war Thursday afternoon. But it wasn’t all fun and games over the past month. Led by new head coach Matt LaFleur, Green Bay looks to be headed in the right direction after what appears to have been a successful offseason program.

Of course, OTAs don’t paint the full picture about who may be playing where, or which players could be on the verge of a breakout season. But it’s the closest thing we’ve got to real football at the moment.

The Packers kicked off their offseason workouts on April 8, followed by voluntary minicamp from April 23-25. Voluntary organized team activities began on May 20 and ended on June 6. Players then reported for mandatory minicamp this past week from June 11-13 — the only mandatory portion of the entire offseason.

It’s easy for players to generate headlines in June, especially with no real football being played. After all, players aren’t allowed to wear pads or engage in any form of contact during practices. That said, we can still gauge who’s improving and who’s lagging behind, especially among the rookies and second-year players.

With minicamp over, the Packers now enter a dark period with over a month off. Training camp is set to begin on Thursday, July 25, with their annual Family Night festivities set for Saturday, August 2 at Lambeau Field. The Packers will also hold joint practices with the Houston Texans, culminated by a preseason game to be played on August 8.

With a busy schedule ahead, Green Bay will need the well-deserved time off between now and training camp. In the meantime, here are five players who impressed mightily during OTAs and minicamp.
