Could the Steelers Trade Ben Roethlisberger?

Make no mistake, the Rooney family is infuriated with Ben Roethlisberger right now.

The reckless driving of his motorcycle was one thing, the civil suit out in Las Vegas was pretty much accepted as a woman realizing she had the opportunity to make some money, but now this latest allegation, to go along with all the other little thing, has the Rooney family up in arms.

They’ve made it quite clear, along with a lot of their fans, that Big Ben is quickly becoming an embarrassment to the black and gold he dons every Sunday.

His stats are starting to look how mediocre they actually are, and the Super Bowl wins become less impressive (on his part) as this facade of the “good guy” is quickly being torn down.

But would the Rooney family actually consider putting Roethlisberger on the trade block?

His eight-year, $102 million contract from a couple years ago may make that difficult to do, but there are a lot of quarterback-needy teams out there who may be willing to overpay and, if it means keeping their persona as a high character team, the Steelers may actually think about it.

Whether you think Roethlisberger is guilty or not, one thing that cannot be disputed is that he’s clearly an idiot for continuously putting himself in these positions. He knows that every move he makes is documented, yet he keeps going out to these parties and making a fool of himself in one fashion or another.

And it’s something the Rooney family, and Steeler Nation, may just have had enough of.
