Albert Haynesworth is Realizing His Mistake

It was the marquee free agent signing of one year ago when former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle, Albert Haynesworth, signed his $100+ million deal with the Washington Redskins.

He is now realizing that his thought process in his free agency year was skewed.

Haynesworth, instead of signing with a team that was destined to compete, opted to sign where he could make the most money. Dollar signs talk, and they sure are persuasive.

With the recent reports of Haynesworth’s name being tossed into the Donovan McNabb trade, in which the Eagles chose not to take Haynesworth, it is now being reported that he is officially on the trading block, and they want to unload him before the draft.

New Washington Redskin’s head coach Mike Shanahan has already grown tired of dealing with Haynesworth, and is ready to ship him out of town, but this is the exact news that is music to big Albert’s ears.

He now plans to cry and moan his way out of Washington, and it seems to be working.

There are a few teams on a list of possible interest (including his former team, the Titans), but the Skins’  shouldn’t expect a fair compensation for a player who has the burden of being known as a player who only plays when he wants to with a humongous contract to sweeten it all.

They say that money can’t buy happiness, and in this case, the ond saying holds true. Maybe free agents will begin to think about what teams would benefit them the most before making their decisions to avoid situations like this in the future.
