Quite a few people had the Denver Broncos selecting Dez Bryant at 11th overall to replace the departured Brandon Marshall at receiver. That didn’t quite sit with the Broncos who traded down, and after a flurry of trades found themselves at the 22nd spot, with Dez Bryant still on the board.
However, Denver decided to go in a different direction at wide receiver, and chose to draft Georgia Tech receiver Demaryius Thomas.
Thomas is a big play threat, and should provide the Broncos with some much needed playmaking ability similar to Brandon Marshall, minus the attitude issues.
At 6’3″ 224-pounds, Thomas has the size and speed (4.38 forty) that NFL teams covet, and despite not working out at the combine with a broken foot, he should be ready to contribute and work come training camp.
