Tennessee Titans Could Be Randy Moss’ Last NFL Stop
After the shock of seeing Randy Moss on the waiver wire wore off, the talk of where Moss would end up immediately started. Early reports said between 25 and 30 teams could put a claim on the future Hall of Famer.
But when the 4PM deadline came and went for teams to put a claim in on Moss, we discovered that only one team — the Tennessee Titans — had any interest in the receiver.
Apparently the story about the caterer and Moss’ incredibly rude outburst scared off every other team and they decided even Hall of Fame talent wasn’t worth the headache.
So whether or not he’s smart enough to realize it, the Titans might be Moss’ only chance to even stay in the NFL.
His recent stop with Minnesota has damaged his already fragile reputation to the point that he’s now in the same boat as Terrell Owens in the “Yeah, you’re great and all, but no thanks” category.
Like Owens, Moss has one team left in the league that believes his mouth and attitude don’t completely cancel out his fading, aging talent.
But if Owens is only able to get one team interested, it would stand to reason, at least for me, that Moss wouldn’t have anyone interested. For my money, I will take Owens over Moss any day because at least I know Owens will be working as hard as he possibly can. He won’t give up on a play or take plays off like Moss who plays when he wants to play by his own account.
Like Brad Childress said, that’s just not a guy any team should want in their locker room.
Unless Moss completely goes off in the second half of the year and/or finds a way to keep his mouth shut and be a team player, his NFL career could come to an end due to a complete lack of interest. Like Owens, Moss is expecting at least one more big money contract, but had Antonio Bryant not gotten injured, Owens might still be sitting at home.
Moss might not be so lucky.
